Logo design for small businesses that works everywhere

A distinctive logo that feels right for your business and still works on a social avatar, a website header, a van or a printed sign. Designed around your brief, with the files you actually need.

Four Web Builder Agency logo concepts: a ribbon WB mark, a folded W mark, a bracketed WB monogram and a wordmark
Logo concepts we developed for our own brand. Concept 1 became the Web Builder Agency logo.

What makes a good logo

A logo that does its job

A small business logo has to work hard. These are the tests we design against.

01

Simple enough to remember

A clear shape and a few well-chosen details are easier to recognise than a busy illustration.

02

Readable at any size

It should still work as a tiny social avatar or favicon, not only on a large banner.

03

Works in one colour

A logo that relies on colour or gradients can fall apart on a receipt, a stamp or an embroidered shirt.

04

Right for your customers

The style should suit your sector and the people you want to attract, not just current design trends.

05

Different from competitors

Customers should be able to tell you apart from the business down the road.

06

Ready for everything else

Your logo sets the tone for your website, ads and documents, so it needs to work with the rest of your brand.

What’s included

Questions

Good to know

How much does logo design cost?

Logo design is priced on enquiry and quoted to your brief, depending on what you need, such as a new logo or a refresh, and the versions and files you need. Scope and price are agreed before we start.

Can you refresh my existing logo?

Yes. If your logo still has recognition worth keeping, we can refine it so it works better at small sizes and across your website, social media and print.

Will my logo work on social media and as a favicon?

Yes. We design versions for small spaces, such as social avatars and favicons, as well as your main logo.

What files will I receive?

Colour and monochrome versions of your logo, with files for web, social and print, plus simple guidance on colours and fonts.

Do you check whether my logo can be registered as a trade mark?

No. We don’t carry out trade mark searches or give legal advice. If you plan to register your logo, check with the UK Intellectual Property Office, or the US Patent and Trademark Office for the United States, or speak to a qualified adviser.

Do you work with clients in the United States?

Yes. Logo design and creative work are open to clients everywhere, including the United States. Website design and build projects are only available to clients outside the United States, because our build contracts are built around UK law and we can’t yet meet the separate US legal requirements.
